Background On Butt Lifts
Like the face, the remainder of the body suffers the consequences of time, gravity, and in some cases, significant weight loss. A butt lift is designed to tighten the skin of the buttock area. The procedure can be performed alone or with other operations such as a thigh lift and tummy tuck. Combining these three operations is often called a body lift.
Redefine Your Assets
Say goodbye to loose, sagging skin and uneven contours.
A butt lift firms up your rear end for a sleeker physique. Excess skin is removed to create a more taught, youthful appearance to the buttocks. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Capella to explore butt lift surgery and other procedures targeting specific areas of excess skin and fat.
Experience the transformation you desire.
At the first office visit, Dr. Capella will take a medical history and perform a focused physical examination for your Butt Lift procedure.
Medical conditions such as bleeding disorders, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, asthma, hernias, or a smoking history will be of particular concern to Dr. Capella. The doctor will request information regarding medications you are currently taking or have taken in the past, including all kinds of pain medications. Your height and weight will be recorded. You should know that this is not an operation for obesity.

Your Butt Lift Pre-Operative Visit
You will meet again with Dr. Capella approximately two weeks before your Butt Lift surgery, at which time any remaining questions regarding the operation will be answered.
You will be asked to discontinue medications that could lead to bleeding during the surgery. The specific medications will be reviewed with you at the visit.
You will then be asked to sign a consent form for the surgical procedure. Dr. Capella performs Butt Lift surgeries with general anesthesia. Photographs will be taken of your abdomen, thighs and buttocks, and any other areas upon which Dr. Capella will be operating. You will be given specific instructions regarding the date and time of your procedure. You are not to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before surgery. Exceptions may be made for certain individuals. You will need to arrange for an adult to drive you to and from the operative suite.
You should wear loose-fitting clothing that will wash easily in the event it is soiled. Do not wear jewelry, contact lenses, or bring valuables to the operating room. Remove all body jewelry from pierced body parts; it can interfere with the procedure and may represent a safety threat to you because of the use of electrocautery during the procedure. Do not shave or wax prior to surgery, as this may increase your risk of infection. On the day of your Butt Lift New Jersey team at Capella Plastic Surgery will take care of any shaving that is necessary. Finally, Dr. Capella will write prescriptions for preventative antibiotics to decrease your risk of infection and a narcotic analgesic for post-operative pain relief.
The Day of Your Butt Lift Surgery
On the day of your procedure, Dr. Capella will place skin markings on your buttocks to direct him during the procedure.
The anesthesiologist will review your medical history and will then administer an anesthetic. A Butt Lift alone takes two hours. When the procedure is combined with an abdominoplasty and thigh lift, it takes approximately three hours. The procedure involves the removal of excess skin from the buttock area. Liposuction may be incorporated to further improve body contour. Drain tubes are placed under the skin to evacuate any fluid which may drain after the operation. The closure of the skin is done with dissolving-type suture material, which does not require removal.

For the first few days, you will likely feel discomfort, which medication can control. Your buttock area will be swollen. The swelling will resolve over a period of several weeks, depending on the extent of your surgery.

A butt lift is a common and highly successful procedure at Capella Plastic Surgery. However, there may be risks or potential complications, such as rare cases of infection and blood clots.
